Who we are

Our newsroom is staffed by named reporters and editors whose roles and coverage areas are listed on our masthead. Every article carries a byline identifying the journalist accountable for it.

Editorial independence

• Editorial decisions are made by our newsroom alone. Commercial partners have no influence over what we publish.
• When we cover an organisation we have a commercial relationship with, we disclose it in the article.
• We are not investment advice, and we do not accept payment for coverage.

How we report

• Primary sources first. Prices, rates and official statistics are cited to central banks, exchanges, statistical agencies and regulatory filings, with a dated Sources block on every article.
• Named accountability. Each story has a named author and an editor.
• Corrections. When we get something wrong we fix it and say so — see corrections.

Our use of automation

We use software to collect market data and to prepare drafts. Every published piece is reviewed, edited and fact-checked by a human editor who is accountable for its contents. Illustrative figures used for layout purposes are labelled as such and never presented as market data. Details are in our editorial policy.
